O2 TV which is a part of the O2 mobile phone network had Oisín in to perform some of he’s songs for them on the 2nd of this month. The piece which was filmed at the O2 Arena will go live on the web week commencing Monday the 14th.

Oisín enjoyed performing some songs in what he described as a fabulous acoustic setting.

The staff at O2 were most kind, giving Oisín and his guests the grand tour of this state of the art venue so a big thanks to Tanya and Susan for their hospitality.

Oisín to feature on RTE’s Television Programme NATIONWIDE

Ireland’s national Television network RTE recently had one of its TV crews spend a day in Oisín’s home village, Clogh, Co. Kilkenny where they were filming the singer / songwriter who was home from Switzerland where he presently lives. The program shall be broadcast on Wednesday the 25th Nov on RTE 1 Television at 7:00pm as part of the popular Nationwide programme, with presenters Michael Ryan and the lovely Mary Kennedy.

The crew were blessed with the weather on the day and part of the piece was filmed in Oisín’s Grandfathers garden which he keeps in superb condition. The piece also includes interviews with those closest to Oisín and he treated some locals in Kavanagh’s bar to a sneak preview of material that he was rehearsing for his appearance at Sligo Live where he was special guest to Imelda May. The performance was critiqued as one of the best performances of the festival.

Oisín also dropped into a local trad session at Coffey’s Bar in the village where he met up with some old friends and showed that despite his escalating career in the pop world, he hasn’t lost his love for the traditional side of his upbringing which has been attributed to the passion that he brings to the pop songs he both writes and sings.

Radio X Interview

Oisín gave a radio interview on The English Show with Mattew Gilsenan. The show is made up of English speaking ex-patriates in Basel Switzerland. They broadcast a live radio show from 94.5 FM Radio X every Tuesday night from 6:30 PM. There purpose for the program is to bring the expat community and interested local English speakers information about cultural events and the community.

Sligo Live a Blast!

On Friday night the 23rd, Oisín was special guest to Imelda May at Sligo live. The gig was a blast with somewhere about 1200 people attending. Oisín was joined by his band who consisted of Aidan Brennan (Acoustic Guitar), Paul Moore (Double Bass) and Conor Brady (Lead Guitar). Oisín performed some of his new material which went down well with the audience. He returns to Switzerland on the 28th before returning to London where he will be visiting venues for an upcoming tour.

As you will have noticed our site was down for a few days. This was due to changing servers and unfortunately our tech guy had just gone on holiday. The volume of traffic has exceeded our expectations and we have just upgraded part of our server to cater for this and other facilities which we will be introducing over the next few weeks.

OISÍN gives live Radio Interview to KCLR from Switzerland

Oisín gave a live pre-concert interview to his local Radio station KCLR in Ireland this morning. The stations presenter, Tom Dowling hooked up with Oisín by phone at his home in Switzerland where the singer / songwriter has been making quite a name for himself in the music world.

Tom who has his own program with KCLR has been presenting the popular show, filling in for his colleague Sue Nunn who is presently on vacation.

Oisín was selected from approximately 2,000 applicants to perform with Ten-Time Grammy award winner Bobby McFerrin in the European Premier of his show Bobble, which debuts in Germany at the prestigious Stimmen Festival in Lorrach. Oisín who is no stranger to the festival, as he played there in 2008 receiving rave reviews in the German and Swiss, where he was described by one critic as the “Find of The Festival”. He shared the bill with artists like Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon and the Everly Brothers.

The Station played one of Oisín’s newest songs, “I’ve Tried”, which is receiving very positive feedback within the industry, both in Ireland and Switzerland. The song will be released as part of Oisín’s upcoming album which is hoped to be released later this year.

New Material

Oisín has completed a new body of work which will form part of his new album, due for release later this year. The feed back within the industry has been very positive and described as fresh and invigorating with a true sense of character coming through.
