Ireland’s national Television network RTE recently had one of its TV crews spend a day in Oisín’s home village, Clogh, Co. Kilkenny where they were filming the singer / songwriter who was home from Switzerland where he presently lives. The program shall be broadcast on Wednesday the 25th Nov on RTE 1 Television at 7:00pm as part of the popular Nationwide programme, with presenters Michael Ryan and the lovely Mary Kennedy.

The crew were blessed with the weather on the day and part of the piece was filmed in Oisín’s Grandfathers garden which he keeps in superb condition. The piece also includes interviews with those closest to Oisín and he treated some locals in Kavanagh’s bar to a sneak preview of material that he was rehearsing for his appearance at Sligo Live where he was special guest to Imelda May. The performance was critiqued as one of the best performances of the festival.

Oisín also dropped into a local trad session at Coffey’s Bar in the village where he met up with some old friends and showed that despite his escalating career in the pop world, he hasn’t lost his love for the traditional side of his upbringing which has been attributed to the passion that he brings to the pop songs he both writes and sings.
